With the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence technology, an increasing number of companies are actively exploring ways to incorporate this potentially transformative tool into their operations. Among these companies is Uber Eats.
Uber Eats is gearing up to introduce an AI-driven chatbot, aimed at assisting users in making decisions about their upcoming meals, as reported by Bloomberg. The details of Uber’s AI chatbot were unearthed by developer Steve Moser from within the company’s code.
Upon launching the chatbot, users will encounter a welcoming message indicating that the “AI Assistant is designed to assist you in discovering relevant restaurant dishes and more.”
Uber Technology Inc’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, revealed to Bloomberg a few weeks ago that the company was actively developing an AI chatbot, refraining from divulging further specifics. Other players in the same space, such as DoorDash Inc and Instacart, are also engaged in efforts to integrate AI functionalities into their respective applications.
Significant as it is, Uber Eats stands as a pivotal vertical within Uber’s operations, contributing to nearly one-third of the company’s overall revenue, as per Bloomberg. Uber holds optimistic expectations that the implementation of its AI tools will empower the Uber Eats segment to maintain a competitive edge in the industry landscape.
